“For unto you is born THIS DAY in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.”

(Luke 2:11).

We do sincerely wish for everyone out there, wherever you may be, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, and a Prosperous NEW YEAR!!

It seems that only a few weeks ago we were planning for Christmas, 2013, but now another year has passed. As I think about this year, 2014, I cannot help but to think, My, how God has so richly blessed us here. This Publication will go into homes, Churches, Missions, Prisons in many places, and will be posted on our internet site for readers in various places around the world, and in nine languages. So, wherever you are, WE WISH FOR YOU AND YOURS A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Today, let me share some thoughts with you from our text about “THIS DAY.”

What kind of a day was “THIS DAY” when Jesus Christ was born? I do not mean; “was it a cloudy day? A sunny day? A rainy day? A warm day? Or a windy day? I mean that day and age, or times over 2000 years ago. Some time ago I was given a computer page listing some of the events happening on the day that I was born, so many years ago. The price of groceries and

various supplies needed in THAT DAY or TIME. All things listed were so different from this day and age in which we live so many years later. What kind of a day was it when Jesus Christ was born?

After the angels declared the Glory of THIS DAY, the shepherds said, “Let us now go even unto Bethlehem to see this thing which is come to pass which the Lord hath made known unto us.” (Lk. 2:15). MADE KNOWN! Revealed! It was a day of REVELATION. “And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Ghost was upon Him. And it was REVEALED unto him by the HOLY GHOST that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for Him after the custom of the Law. Then he took Him up in his arms, and blessed God and said, Lord, now lettest thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes HAVE SEEN thy salvation.” (Lk.2:25).God revealed the birth of Christ to the shepherds and to Simeon. He set His sign in the sky, the stars were not in order, and nature was upset. Things were not normal. A Heavenly Host came and was singing and praising God. This was a day of REVELATION! Christ, the Redeemer has come to earth in full REVELATION to that which was presented in the Old Testament.

ANGELS VISITED MARY. (Lk. 1:26-35). “Thou shalt conceive in thy womb and bring forth

a son, and call his name JESUS.” (Lk. 1:31).

ANGELS VISITED JOSEPH. (Mt 1:18-25) “But when he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” (Mt 1:20).

“Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is “GOD WITH US.”(Mt. 1:21). Emmanuel means, “God with us.” All that God is visited earth in the person of that little baby born in a manger so many years ago.

“God came down on Christmas Morn,

The day when Jesus Christ was born.”

All of the promises about the birth of the Saviour are fulfilled and complete. “But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the Law. To redeem them that were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” (Gal. 4:4-5)

All of the promises of His birth were fulfilled and complete…

The place of His birth….Micah 5:2)

The manner of His birth…Gen 3:15, Lk. 1:26-

27) Mt. 1:18-25.

We need never look for another, for all of God’s promises are COMPLETE and FULFILLED in Christ Jesus.

“Because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Lk. 2:7). He was not born in a king’s palace, He was born in a stable. Finding no place for His birth is a foreshadow of mankind finding no place for Him during the time He was here. The nation would have no part in Him. “He came unto His own and His own received Him not.” (Jn. 1:11). Later they cried, “His blood be on us and on our children.” (Mt 27:25).

The day, times, and season when Jesus was born was a DAY OF REJECTION, just like TODAY!

Simeon said, “For mine eyes have seen Thy Salvation.” (Lk. 2:30).

What kind of a day was it when Jesus came? It was a day like all days. A day just like today. God visited the earth and revealed his plan of Salvation. Everything that God is, was invested in Christ. He is THE WAY, the ONLY WAY to God. God is the author of salvation and if we are to be saved, we must be saved GOD’S WAY! “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” (Jn 1:12). God’s only plan of Salvation for man is for man to receive His Son; Christ Jesus. This is a simple act of faith alone on our part. God gave His Son, we must receive His Son. “How do I receive Him?” Tell Him that you receive Him. “Ask and ye shall receive. Wherever you may be, right now, God is listening for your heart’s cry. Receive Him today!

This Christmas will be my 54th Christmas as a Born again, child of God. How I praise His Holy Name for coming down to earth to save sinners of “which I am chief.”

THINK ABOUT IT…Most of the world missed His first coming. God made everything so clear that they should not have missed Him, BUT THEY DID! And so it is with His second coming. This great Truth is so clouded with so many doctrines of man I am afraid that millions and millions will miss His Second Coming. Are you ready? Perhaps today will be that Great Day!

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS…it is no friend to the Christian. What the world could not see then, it cannot see now. He called us out of the world that we might clearly see.

“…And they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

(Mt. 1:23)

God came down on Christmas Morn

The day when Jesus Christ was born,

Eternal God, incarnate there,

Robed in the flesh of the baby, fair.

Grace came down to fallen man,

Grace that brought Salvation’s plan,

Grace came down to a manger’s bed,

Where baby Jesus lay His head.

Truth came down, God did display,

The Truth where baby Jesus lay,

Wise men came with spices, rare,

And beheld the Truth, the Christ Child there.

Love came from a virgin’s womb,

Love that led Him to a tomb,

The day E man-u-el was born,

Love came down that Christmas Morn.

Heavenly anthems filled the air,

And Glory filled the stable, there,

“Peace to men of all the earth”

Peace came by the Saviour’s birth.

God and Grace and Truth and Love,

All came to earth from Heaven above,

God came down on Christmas Morn,

The day when Jesus Christ was born.

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS…It is no friend to the Christian. The world takes the Birth of Christ and turns it into a pagan day. Lights, and candles, and tinsel do not make Christmas. Christ is Christmas, without Christ, there is no Christmas.

“Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.” (Jn. 1:12).

By Pastor George Mills

“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee named Nazareth. To a VIRGIN espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the VIRGIN’S name was Mary.” (Lk 1:26-27).

This is one of the Cardinal Doctrines of the Church. Cardinal, meaning, “Of basic importance.” We may differ on some minor, or lesser things concerning Christianity. Some major on things that matter very little. But there are some doctrines we cannot compromise. The inspiration of the Scriptures, (KJB) The vicarious death of Christ on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven to be our High priest, and His coming again are doctrines that are not debatable. Likewise, the Virgin Birth is not debatable.

The prophecy did not start in Isaiah 7:14 which says, “Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son…” This prophecy dates back to the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3. This is the record of man’s sin. Man sinned in the Garden, and because of the original sin, death passed on to all mankind. We are sinners because Adam sinned and we inherit Adam’s sinful nature. God knew Adam sinned, and God gave promise of the Redeemer through the seed of a woman, (Gen. 3:15). “And I will put enmity between thy seed and HER SEED, it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” That one verse in Genesis 3:15 is the key verse to the Old Testament

In God’s great plan of redemption, He prepared a man; ABRAHAM. When God called Abraham He said to him; “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee, and in thee shall ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE (cont’d pg 4)

BLESSED.” (Gen 12:2-3). God prepared for the Virgin Birth through the seed of Abraham. God prepared a man, that He might prepare a family, that He might prepare a nation, (Israel). Time and time again God moved to prepare this nation. He prepared the nation in Egyptian bondage. He prepared the nation in Babylonian captivity. He prepared the nation in Assyria. He prepared Israel, and the nations of the world for the Virgin Birth of His Son; our Lord Jesus Christ. God prepared a man that He might prepare a family, that He might prepare a nation, that He might prepare a family, that He might prepare a Virgin womb for the birth of His Son. That may seem somewhat repetitious, but God moved kingdoms to prepare for the Virgin Birth. In fact, the Old Testament, from Genesis 3:15 through Malachi 4:6 is the recording of God’s preparation for the Virgin Birth. The Virgin Birth was not an afterthought. God moved nations and kingdoms for the great event.

Isaiah 7:14 is often used at this season, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign, behold a VIRGIN shall conceive and bear a son and shall call ,his name immanuel.” This is one of many places where I disagree with the modern “versions” on the market today. In many ways they attack, or deny the Virgin birth of Christ. If He was not born of a virgin, we have no Saviour. His blood would be like our blood and could not be acceptable to God as payment for our sin. But He was VIRGIN BORN as God promised, “to a Virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David, and the Virgin’s name was Mary.

The Virgin Birth is a miracle birth. It cannot be explained as you would explain some theory. This is a miracle. The Virgin birth came from God’s Great Plan. God prepared the way for the Virgin birth that He might prepare the way for another miracle birth; THE NEW BIRTH. If you take away “virgin” then there is no “new birth.” “God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, (Gal. 4:4). “For the Lord hath created a NEW THING in the earth, A WOMAN shall compass a man.” (Jer. 31:22. The plan of the virgin birth is Redemption. Redemption for you and me. “But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son…TO REDEEM them that were under the Law that we might receive the adoption of sons.” (Gal 4:4-5). In God’s great plan of redemption He moved nations that He might prepare a virgin womb, that the Saviour might be born in order that He might be the perfect sacrifice for sin. THAT’S GOD’S CHRISTMAS GIFT TO YOU! RECEIVE IT NOW! “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.”

“And when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts, gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Mt 2:11-b).

The gifts the wise men brought to Christ were most appropriate indeed. They speak of Person and Work of Jesus Christ.

1. GOLD.

The Gold speaks of His Deity. Gold in the Bible always refers to His Deity. The furnishing in the wilderness tabernacle were overlaid with pure gold. The Mercy seat was gold, the Cheribims were gold. The temple that Solomon built was overlaid with gold. All symbolizing the Presence of the Lord was in that place.. “I counsel of thee to buy of Me Gold, tried in the fire that thou mayest be rich.” Was Christ’s advice to the church at Laodecia. The Gold He was speaking was tried in the fiery trial of the Cross of Calvary. Tried and found to be Pure Gold. This Gold has been tried by every satanic force and found to be PURE GOLD. The Gift of Gold speaks of His Deity.

Smoke from the burning incense in the temple represented prayers rising to God. This incense speaks of the intercession of Jesus Christ. The fire of the incense altar was to (cont’d pg 5)

burn continually, (Ex. 30:8). The fire was never to be extinguished. The burning incense speaks of the prayers rising to the Throne of God. Today, Christ is forever alive to be our eternal High Priest. I thank God for that. We need no other intercessor, He is our eternal High Priest. “For such a High Priest became us, who is Holy, Harmless, undefiled, Separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s. For this He did ONCE when He offered up Himself.” (Heb. 7:26-27). Verse 25 of that same text says “He ever liveth to make intercession for them.” The gift of frankincense reminds us of His Eternal High Priestly Ministry.

Myrrh speaks of bitterness. Myrrh is the root word for bitterness. This gift reminds us of His suffering, His humility, and the bitterness of rejection and betrayal. In just a short time from the visit of these wise men, Herod will begin the bitter campaign against Christ. Herod will issue a death penalty for every child from two years old and under.(Mt. 2:16). The more Christ loved, the more bitter the religious crowd became. Hatred and bitterness were throughout His life, at His trial, and at His Cross. All of the bitterness Satan could stir up was there. And there, in awful loneliness, between two thieves, and forsaken by God and man, Christ died for us.

Yes, appropriate gifts indeed were presented by these wise men. These Gifts remind us of Who Christ is, what Christ did, and where Christ is today!

THINK ABOUT IT.. God used a heathen king to get Joseph and Mary out of Galilee to Bethlehem where Jesus was born in fulfillment to prophecy. Caesar issued the decree that the world should be taxed. That decree caused Joseph and Mary to go to Bethlehem. Wise men from Babylon brought gifts, gold to pay the tax and for the trip to Egypt. “God reigneth over the heathen, God sitteth upon the throne of His Holiness.” (Psa. 47:8)

It’s Christmas Season once again and we are all searching for that perfect gift, the gift that will bring joy and gladness to the one who receives it. We want to give the very gift that expresses our love, the gift that we know will make our loved ones happy, excited and thankful! Some of the most appreciated gifts are the hand made ones, the gifts that we have taken the time to make ourselves. This is just another way of showing our love to the receiver. Maybe you do not have the means of obtaining a gift for the ones you love and if that is the case, then I know what you can give and it is one of the most precious gifts that anyone can give; the gift of Love! The gift of love will have your Time, your Kindness and Forgiveness all wrapped up in a beautiful package of love ready to be received. The Greatest Gift ever given was a gift of love and that gift came as a tiny baby and He was wrapped in swaddling clothes! God’s Greatest Gift was a gift of Love! That little baby grew up and gave His life on a cross so you and I could have a home in Heaven if we would only accept His gift and that is the gift of Salvation. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This Christmas Season if you want joy, peace, and happiness ask Jesus into your heart and receive the Greatest Gift ever given! “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

Merry Christmas, and lots of love from my heart!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh from the Father of lights.”

(James 1:17).

Can you believe it is Christmas Time? This time of year happens to be my all time favorite. The atmosphere is uplifting and joyful, and everyone seems to always have a smile on their face. We can walk through the malls and hear Christmas music, look over and smell the scent of a Christmas tree, and my favorite, the bright lights that are hung everywhere. Even though it’s so easy to get wrapped up in all of the festivities of Christmas, never forget the real reason we celebrate Christmas, the reason why you have the brightest light shining in your heart.

This holiday season I challenge you to share Jesus Christ in every way you can. Start by just simply being excited! We, as Christians should be the most excited about Christmas. We are celebrating the birth of our Saviour! God sent His only Son to rescue His people from sin. This is the greatest gift we will ever receive. The gift of Eternal Life!

Another way to share Christ this Christmas is to have your mind more focused on Him and less on the gifts. Reflect on what Jesus has done for you and your life. Take time from all the Christmas festivities you will be attending and read the Christmas story. This way, not only will you be sharing Christ, but also you will be letting others see the light of Christ inside of you. This could lead into inviting others to church and letting them hear more about the Good news of Christ.

In whatever way you decide to share Christ this Christmas, just know that you are helping in furthering the kingdom of Christ. Be bold! You can just simply hand a tract to the cashier at the store, or volunteer at a local shelter. Little things can lead into big victories!

Until next time, Ashley Stevens

And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” (Prov. 18:24).

Just take a moment to reflect and see the work of the Holy Spirit in your life….

He sought you. As the servant of Abraham went into a foreign land to seek for a bride for Isaac, So the Holy Spirit came and sought you. (Gen. 24)

He saved you. We are born again of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:1-8).

He sealed you. After we heard the Gospel, and believed the Gospel, He came into our lives, and sealed us. Now we belong to Him. (Eph.1:13).

He secured you. Read Romans 8:31-39.

He speaks from God to you. His is that still, small voice that says, “this is the way, walk ye in it.” (Isa. 30:21).

He succours you. The word means, “helper.” He is there with you to aid an comfort you.” (Heb. 2:18).

He sees you through safely to the other shore. If we die, He will quicken (make alive) our mortal bodies. (Ro. 8:11).

Now, what will we do with a friend like that? Let us give Him a clean vessel in which to dwell. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are Gods’

(1Cor. 6:19-20

THINK ABOUT IT… a Divine Person lives in the body of every believer…A Divine guest! Can we give Him less than a Holy life? Shouldn’t we be careful about our choice of friends, our places of entertainment? Shouldn’t we do our best to give to Him our best?

As we think about this New Year, let us look at everything with a positive attitude.

We, who are of our homeland America are a blessed people. Things are not perfect. But when we see the condition of nations about us we have to say that the poorest here live better than rich folks in some countries of the world.

I trust the the new congress, elected in November will remember the platform they ran on and seek to see it implemented into Law. The borders should be sealed, emigration laws should be enforced, Our national defense should be strengthened, and not weakened. Tax laws should be re-visited. The medical needs of the people will not be met if we stay with the laws passed by the former congress. Same sex marriages that defy the clear teachings of the Word of God only weaken the morals of the nation. The courts of our land, in recent years have overruled in the choices of the people. We trust that judges will not “rule from the bench.” There is so much to list. We should pray daily for America. This is my home, the place of my birth. I am proud to be an American. “BRETHREN, PRAY FOR US.”

We need to see REVIVAL in our time. We need a genuine visit by the Holy Spirit. The Bible, (KJB) should be brought back to the pulpits. When I started in the Ministry so many years ago, we did not have this multitude of “bibles.” We had one Bible and no one questioned it. The preacher would simply say, “This is the Word of God.” to be answered by a hearty AMEN by the congregation. Today, we have many, many “versions” and no one seems to know which one to use. The answer is simple. Stay with the Bible God gave until He changes it, and that will not happen. We refuse to use the ones put together by a committee. In every new “version” the Person of Jesus Christ is attacked in one way or another. We need to hold fast to the truth presented in the Word of God; “For ever. O LORD, Thy Word is settled in Heaven.”(Psa 119:89). “BRETHREN, PRAY FOR US.”

We ask our readers everywhere to pray for this Ministry in the New Year. We do not have great numbers to report, however, we do reach into thousands of lives around the world every day. We are not great in size, but we do have the world in view and are committed to get the Gospel of Christ to the nations of the world. Every day satellites circle the globe sending messages. Because of this opportunity, this Ministry, both in print and in the spoken word is beamed down to the nations 24 hours a day. We praise our Lord for what He has done through the years. The Broadcast part of this Ministry had it’s beginning in 1966, and the printed monthly Publication began in 1976. We do everything we can to remain true to the Word of God, to the fundamentals of the Faith, and to world evangelism. In this day of compromise and forsaking sound doctrine, we will not! We appreciate every offering that is sent to us. This Ministry has never been in debt. We believe that this Work of Faith is worthy of your Prayers. Brethren, in this New Year, “PRAY FOR US!”

This Ministry serves many in jails and in prisons. We have been able to send this Publication into institutions for quite awhile. We greet men and women there. We appreciate hearing from various places. The Gospel of Jesus Christ still works. Many, many have been sent to prison and there met Christ as Saviour only to leave there and do great works for God. “BRETHREN, PRAY FOR US.”

In this day of Communication, we seek to use everything we can. Almost everyone we see has some kind of phone, I-pad, or one of these “new things” that I cannot name, things that communicate with others. We trust that in this New Year we can put some of these things to use in this Ministry. We should use every means available. I am trying to learn. These “new things” of communication have come along very late in my life, but I am trying. “BRETHREN, PRAY FOR US.

Your letters, calls, and and kind words from various sources are very encouraging. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

This is a real problem with some. Things happen in lives and doubts come. “This person said this, and that one said something else, etc.”

I suppose everyone who is saved has had doubts at some time. I do not believe that the Holy Spirit in you let you doubt for very long.

Now, Have you called upon the Name of the Lord to save you? Have you believed that Jesus Christ paid for your sin by His finished Work on the Cross. Do you believe what the Bible says about Salvation? Do you believe that the Bible is true, trustworthy, and forever settled?

If you believe these things, then who are you doubting? You are doubting the very God who gave you the promise of Salvation. When someone doubts your word, that troubles and upsets you. You want to be believed, but someone does not believe you. That hurts. How do you think God feels when we doubt His Word.

Every day, wake up and say, “Good Morning Holy Spirit,” and “Thank you Lord for saving my soul.” “Thank you for the promises in the Word of God that guarantee my Salvation.”

Remember, when you doubt your Salvation, you are doubting the very one who promised you Eternal Life, reason for living, and hope when dying. NEVER FEAR, GOD IS NEAR!
