THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST
By Dr. George Mills

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.”
(Phil. 2:9-11).
The Lordship of Jesus Christ is a subject far too vast to try to cover in such a short space as we have. Today, we can only touch the hem of His garment, so to speak. Recently I was listening to someone give testimony about the time he had trusted in Christ to be His Saviour. He made the statement that I have heard many others make. He said, “I made Jesus the Lord of my life.” Many of the Television preachers say, “Make Jesus the Lord of your life.” Now, that sounds good, but isn’t that a faulty statement? JESUS IS LORD! No matter what I may think about it, JESUS IS ALREADY LORD! I cannot make Jesus anything. Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, JESUS IS LORD! “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both LORD and CHRIST! (Acts 2:36). Today, let’s see some of His LORDSHIP from the pages of the Holy Bible

1. CHRIST IS LORD IN SALVATION. Salvation is His. He bought it with His own blood. “Forasmuch as ye know ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1Pet. 1:18-19). Christ alone is the Divine Sacrifice for sin. “God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.” (2Cor. 5:19). ALL of the SIN of ALL of the world of ALL ages was placed upon the Sinless Son of God. He is the SIN BEARER. If we are to be saved, we must acknowledge the fact that CHRIST IS LORD. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth THE LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Ro. 10:9).
“Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31). We begin our Christian life as a new born babe. We do not understand everything. We have to learn. We grow IN Salvation after we have received Christ. But we began with the acknowledgment that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! We believe what the Bible (KJB) says about Christ. We receive Him by faith, (Jn. 1:12). And we are born into the family of God. We cannot come to God any other way, or through any other Name, CHRIST IS LORD!
Recently I listened to another testimony. The speaker said something like this…”My life was in such a mess. I did not know where to turn. Then I said. ‘God, IF you are real, show me, and suddenly there was a calmness and peace.’ Now I am nobody’s judge, but there was no hint of a confession that “Jesus Christ is Lord,” there was only a big “IF.” The Bible says, “He that cometh to God MUST believe that He is and that He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him.” “But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His name.” (Jn. 1:12). CHRIST IS LORD IN SALVATION! Accept no substitutes, accept no experiences, none of the various modes of baptism, there is no other way!

2. CHRIST IS LORD OVER DEMONIC FORCES.
While Christ was here on earth, demons confessed and feared Him, “Art thou come to torment us before the time?” Please take a few moments and read the passage in Mark 5:1-17. The legion of demons that possessed this helpless man were powerless at the voice of the Son of God as He cast them out of the man and into the herd of swine. Christ faced the devil from the night of His birth all the way to Mount Calvary. Satan tried in three temptations in Mt. 4:1-12 and Satan found there was no weakness, there was no place found in Christ that could yield to temptation. Christ is Lord over every demon. Christ won every battle with satanic forces. Christ bruised the serpent’s head in His victory at Calvary! CHRIST IS LORD OVER THE DEMONIC WORLD!

3. CHRIST IS LORD OVER EVERY DISEASE.
He is the Great Physician. I have no faith or trust in these so called, “faith healers.” I have all confidence in our Lord Jesus Christ. He displayed His power over disease many times while He lived among men. He spoke, and some were healed. He touched, and some were healed. A woman with an issue of blood had tried everything to heal her infirmity all to no avail, and when she touched the hem of His garment, she was healed. Countless times through the ages, saints of God have prayed and Christ exercised His Lordship over disease. He did that very thing for me, and I praise Him for that. May I add this that He did not have to suffer the pains of Calvary in order to heal anyone. He did that before Calvary. He IS Lord!

4. CHRIST IS LORD OVER THE ELEMENTS.
Read the account in John 6:5-13 about a boy with a lunch of five loaves and two fishes. “How can such a small lunch feed so great a crowd?” was the great question. As a little boy surrendered his lunch, watch as the elements break down and begin to multiply. Twelve basketsful were left over after the crowd was fed because of His Lordship over the elements. Even the elements obey Him.

5. CHRIST IS LORD OVER NATURE.
In Matthew 21:18-22, the fig tree withered away at the voice of Christ. He speaks to a raging, stormy sea, and the winds and waters obey His voice as He says, “Peace, be still.” The waters hold Him as He takes a stroll on the sea. Yes, at the sound of His voice, there was a great calm. “What manner of man is this that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” He is Lord! Nature obeys Him.

6. CHRIST IS LORD OVER THE ANIMAL KINGDOM.
Our Lord told the apostle Peter to cast his hook into the sea. Somehow, in the life of a fish down there, he felt the sudden urge to pick up a coin on the ocean floor with his mouth and then go bite a hook…all in response to the voice of the Lord. Christ told His disciples to loose a colt whereon no man had ever sat and bring the colt to Christ.(Mk. 11:1-7). Did you ever try to sit on a colt that no man has ever ridden? If you try that, you are in for a ride, if you can stay on. When I was just a boy at age 7 or 8 years, on the farm in south Georgia, every morning the cows were let out of the corral and they went through the woods to feed themselves. One of those cows was a yearling, white face. I could picture myself proudly riding that little cow. After pestering my older brother, he caught the calf, fixed a harness, placed me on the back of that calf and off we went through the woods. I had been thrown off immediately and was holding on to the rope and yelling for my brother. I believed he enjoyed watching me. No, you can’t ride on a colt (or calf) whereon no man ever sat. But our Lord can. The colt obeyed His voice, simply because He is Lord over the animal kingdom!

7. CHRIST IS LORD OVER THE NATIONS.
There is a great growing anti-Christ, anti-God to get the Name of Christ out of the public, out of education, out of this nation. Remove “In God we trust” as our motto, and “One nation under God” is the cry of may organizations today. The Bible says, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His anointed saying. Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall have them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.” (Psa. 2:1-5). Man looks up into the face of God and says, “get out of our lives, we can handle things down here.” Little does man realize just how frail and fragile he is in the sight of God. In Daniel’s prayer of thanksgiving, he blessed the God of Heaven saying, “Blessed be the Name of God for ever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changeth the times and the seasons, He removeth kings and setteth up kings He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.” (Dan. 2:20-21). Little does man realize that he is just a tool in the hands of God. God has a plan for the nations, and where He does not rule, He overrules. The nations of the world are marching toward Armageddon just as God said. Read Revelation, Ch. 19 and see the King of kings, and Lord of lords return to earth and march through the armies of the anti-Christ and set up His own kingdom. Christ is LORD OVER THE NATIONS!

8. CHRIST IS LORD OVER DEATH.
While Christ was here on earth He exercised His Lordship over death. In Mark 5:22-43 we read about Jairus’ daughter, a young girl whom Christ raised from the dead. The widow of Nain, (Lk.7:11-16 was about to bury her only son. again Jesus exercised His Lordship over death and interrupted a funeral. Jesus’ friend Lazarus had died, (Jn 11:1-44). Jesus again, in His Lordship said, “Lazarus, come forth,” and in obedience to the voice of Deity, Lazarus came forth from the dead. In reply to John the Baptist’s inquiry, Mt. 11:1-5. Jesus said, “Shew those things which ye do see and hear and see. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the DEAD ARE RAISEDUP…” And one day in His Lordship, He, Himself walked away from the grave, victorious! Any day now, once again, He will exercise His Lordship over death. The trumpet will sound, the dead in Christ will rise, living believers will be changed, and together be caught up in the clouds ever to be with Christ, all in obedience to His Lordship.

9. CHRIST IS LORD OVER YOUR LIFE.
Admit it or not, like it or not, He is still Lord. He has power to give life, and He has power to take it away. You may say, “I will never bow to Christ.” Oh yes you will1 One day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Philippians 2:10 says “that every knee SHOULD BOW to Him.” That’s what every person in the world SHOULD DO. Have you done that? Don’t wait too late because one day “Every knee SHALL BOW to me.” (Ro. 14:11. He is Lord. He numbers our days and sets up boundaries we cannot cross.
There is no question about it, JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!. Let everyone do these things…

Surrender to His Lordship. Don’t try it your way, that will not work. “Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31).

Serve His Lordship. Satan is a hard taskmaster. Billions of lives have been wrecked, wasted, and ruined because they left Christ out of the picture, followed the crowd, and my, my, what a price to pay. I have been trying to serve Him for over 50 years. I have not regretted a day. HE IS LORD! That’s His position. We can’t make Him anything! We just surrender to what He already
is!

            JESUS CHRIST IS LORD
“God hath made Jesus both LORD and CHRIST”
By Pastor George Mills

Christ is LORD of every life,
He is LORD of every day,
He is LORD, above all strife.
He is ordained that way.

When demons had their victim bent,
With no hope from day to day,
Into the herd of swine they went,
When Christ sent the demons away.

“Cast your line into the sea,
The fish, my voice, obey,
And open his mouth and there will be,
A coin for the tax to pay.”

“The storm around is raging so,
Each moment threatens harm.”
“Peace, be still.” the winds do know,
He is LORD of every storm.

“Loose the colt and bring to me,
The Lord hath need of him,
For he will yield to Deity,
At the voice of Diadem.”

Death, oh death, once filled with fear,
And always one breath ahead.
Now face the grave without a tear,
The LORD has risen from the dead.

One day mankind will bow the knee,
And every tongue will say,
That Christ is LORD, then willingly,
Oh friend, do that today.

LORD of all, to bow to none,
He fulfilled the Father’s Word.
All power belongs to God’s own Son,
Christ is forever LORD!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOM!

May twelfth has been set aside this year to honor our MOTHERS. This is a blessed day! To be a real MOTHER is a most difficult calling, but a high and holy calling! Almost any healthy female can give birth to a child, but that does not make her a MOTHER. It takes someone very special to be a MOTHER. And the same thing can be said about men. It takes a real man to be a father. Some MOTHERS are left alone to raise the family. Some husbands have been taken away in death, and some husbands are just “away.” So Mom has to fill the roll of both parents…and some are doing a fantastic job! My MOTHER was left like that. She was left with four children to raise, alone and that without income, and without welfare programs of today. But somehow, by the Grace of God, we made it! MOTHER brought us through some very hard times. I love the memory of my MOTHER. My MOTHER has been in Heaven since 1969. Today, many years later, I can still hear her singing…

“Does Jesus care, when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress,
And the days are weary and long?
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief,
When the days are weary, the long night dreary,
I know my Saviour cares.”

It would be so wonderful to hug that sweet, warm, lovely person once again, but I can’t, at least, not now. But one day, around the Throne of God, at that Heavenly reunion, what a time we will have when, after we see and greet our Loving Saviour, we will all greet again that dear one we call MOTHER!

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy MOTHER, for they shall be an ornament of GRACE unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.” (Prov. 1:8-9).

FROM MY HEART
By Mildred Mills

HOW WONDERFUL TO BE A CHILD OF THE KING!
My sister, Mary Ann, came down from her beautiful home in Georgia to visit for a few days and we had a fun time talking about the “good ole days” back when we were kids. We decided to “visit” the old neighborhood, the place we were raised, and so we did. The house is no longer there and the few houses that are still there don’t look the same. We could have looked at our old home place, the place where the house once stood and had feelings of sadness but we didn’t, we chose to think about all the happy times we had there when Mama, Daddy and all the kids were there. We reminisced, laughed awhile, circled the block several times, saw the “fallen tree” the place where we all went to play and then we left the old neighborhood REJOICING!! My how far the Lord has brought us! He replaced the old house with a home in Heaven for our Mama, our Daddy, and two of our brothers who have gone on before us. We have been blessed more than words can say! God is so very good to His children and I thank Him. It’s nice to look back just to see where God has brought us from and where we might have been. We have been blessed! Same is true as Christians in our walk with the Lord. When we are tempted to grow weary in well doing, when the world tugs at us and Satan tries to convince us that “everything is beautiful in this old world,” when we are tempted to look back and ask “what if” and “why this” just remember where God has brought us from and where we might have been. My sister, Mary Ann and I went to the old neighborhood, we looked, we saw and we left thanking God for all His blessings…
“The Cross before us, the world behind us,
No turning back, no turning back.”

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MAMA!
Our Mother, the sweetest, most caring and loving Mother ever is in Heaven! We love you Mama!

How beautiful Heaven must be,
Sweet home of the happy and free,
Fair haven a home for the weary,
How beautiful Heaven must be.

TEEN TALKS THAT MATTER
By Ashley Stevens

BOLDNESS TO SERVE

“And when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31).
The Holy Spirit was given to reveal who Jesus is to us. We can tell through this scripture that they were filled with the Spirit while they were in prayer and after they prayed they proclaimed the Word of God boldly. As Christians we need to be encouraged daily to pray and ask God to fill us with the Spirit. We need to faithfully study the Word of God so we can be knowledgeable of it and we can proclaim it boldly just like this group of early Christians. When we proclaim the Word of God boldly it will help us stay connected with other believers and together we can help lead the lost to Christ. This scripture shows us the real power that a group of Christians, filled with the Spirit and gathered together in prayer, can have.
Let us pray and strengthen one another. My prayer is that every one of us will spend time with God each and every day so that we can be filled with the Holy Ghost and the Glory of the Lord will be shown through us.
May God bless your life each and every day.
Until next time, Ashley Stevens

BLESSED ASSURANCE, JESUS IS MINE
Pastor Mills

We love the old hymn written by Fannie Crosby;
“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine,
Oh what a foretaste of glory Divine,
Heir of salvation, purchased of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His Blood.”

It is a real joy to have down deep inside that wonderful BLESSED ASSURANCE! Many ask, “How can I know for sure that I am saved?” “Can I know?” “Do we have to wait until we die in order to know?” If you have doubts you are not alone. The best of God’s servants, from time to time have had doubts. This is not to offer an excuse, this is a reality. Doubting is not good. Doubt is the opposite of faith. Satan can find or invent ways to make you doubt, if you open that door. You cannot enjoy your salvation, and you cannot be a consistent soul winner while you have doubts. Doubts will rob you of manifold blessings. Jesus said, “If ye continue in my Word then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (Jn. 8:32), FREE! Free from worry, free from doubt. Today, let us look into His Word and find that freedom. The little Book of First John was written for us, THAT WE MAY KNOW! “These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life.” (1Jn. 5:13). The word KNOW appears 26 times in First John and most times it is written for our assurance. Let’s follow the Apostle John as he leads us to that BLESSED ASSURANCE…

1. YOUR ASSURANCE IS IN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST.
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and the life is IN HIS SON. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1Jn. 5:11-13). The question then is simple, “Do you have Jesus Christ in your life?” Have you, by faith alone, received Jesus Christ as your Saviour? You must believe that He died on the Cross in full payment for your sin, and that He was buried, and that He arose from the dead to be your living Saviour. How then, do I receive Christ? The Bible is clear; :Ask, and ye shall receive.” Christ will never come into your life unbidden by you. He will not knock down the barriers and barge into your life, you must ask Him in. If you have not done that, then today, NOW is the time for you to do that. Your assurance is in a personal relationship with Christ.

2. YOUR ASSURANCE IS IN THE WORD OF GOD.
“These things have I written unto you.” The Bible, (KJB) is trustworthy. Now, don’t fall for the flood of “versions” on the market today. Many more are coming. Get the old Bible, the one your parents, and grandparents used. There you will find assurance. And the many “How To” books are many times misleading. The Bible that told you of your need for Christ will give you assurance if you will just believe it. Read great promises, John 1:12, John 3:16-18, John 5:24, John 6:37, John 10:27-29. If Jesus were there telling you these things, no one would doubt. That same Jesus told His disciples to write these things that we might KNOW. Your assurance is in the Book.

3. YOUR ASSURANCE IS IN THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT.
“Hereby know we that we dwell in Him and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.” (1Jn. 4:13). There is much fanaticism about the Holy Spirit. So much, in fact, that many dare not mention the Holy Spirit. Let me say that the Holy Spirit came into your life the instant you received Christ. That’s a matter of fact, and not a matter of feelings, or emotions, utterances, or a thousand other things. “In who ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.” (Eph 1:13). We hear about Christ, we believe what the Bible says about Christ, we receive Christ by faith, and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us and He is in our lives to stay until God calls us home. It is His mission to take the things of Christ and teach them to us. Your assurance in in the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life.

4. YOUR ASSURANCE IS IN YOUR LOVE FOR HIS CHURCH.
“We KNOW that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren.” (1Jn. 3:4). John is very dogmatic with the word “KNOW. We love the church. We love to attend all services. We love singing the beautiful hymns. We love the fellowship, we love the prayers, we love the preaching of the Word of God. Now, there was a time in my life when the church meant very little to me. I very seldom attended any church. But one day in August 1960, I met Christ, (in church) and my attitude changed. Now, I love the church. Now get this; your assurance will NOT come while you are fishing, golfing, or picnicking on Sunday! Your assurance will not come if you attend a Sunday here, then miss six, then attend, etc. Now if you are sick, or have some infirmity that keeps you away, I am not speaking to you. Pray for your church. Pray for your pastor, Pray for the salvation of others. Love your church.

5. YOUR ASSURANCE IS IN YOUR OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDMENTS.
“And hereby we know that we know Him if we keep His commandments. He that saith I know Him and keepeth not His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. (1Jn. 2:3-4), We are not saved by keeping His commandments. We are saved by Grace through Faith plus and minus nothing. But after we are saved there is a desire to keep His commandments and do those things pleasing in His sight. The Bible says His commandments are not grievous, (1Jn 5:3).Are you trying to do His will? If you have that desire to please, and to serve Christ, that’s a pretty good sign. By serving Him I mean making that public profession of your faith in Christ, following Him in baptism, attending church, reading His word, giving of your finances and using your talent for Christ and witnessing to others. God wants us free from all doubts. He wants you to know for sure that you are saved. He wrote a Book just for you. Now, if these things have not helped you and you still have doubts, and you do not have that Blessed Assurance, perhaps you need to be saved. Take the truth of this message and ask Christ to come into your heart. Tell Him in your own words that you believe that He died for you, and that He was buried, and that He arose from the dead, for you. He will come in when you ask Him in. Do that today. And begin today to live forever.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

“WHAT HAPPENS WHEN JESUS RETURNS FOR HIS CHURCH?”

The answer to this question covers a lot of space. I will try to get the main thoughts together for you. The event is called the rapture. The word rapture does not appear in the Bible. It means “a catching away.”

First. The Lord Himself descends, not to earth, but in the air above the earth. No one knows the day or time, or season for this event. (1Thess 4:13-18).

He descends with a SHOUT. That shout will penetrate the grave of every believer who has died.

The dead IN CHRIST shall rise first. Christ brings these with Him. They will be reunited with their glorified resurrected body in the air. Old Testament saints will be resurrected at the end of the tribulation period, (Daniel 12:1-4).

Living believers in Christ will suddenly be changed. (1Cor. 15:51-52). This change is in the “twinkling of an eye.”

All believers then will be caught up (raptured) to forever be with The Lord. Little children from all over the world who have not reached the age of accountability will be changed and caught up.

Unsaved dead will be left in the grave. Their soul is in hell. They will be resurrected at the end of the millennial, (Rev. 20:11-15).

Unsaved living at the rapture will be left behind. Some will suffer under the rule of the antichrist. Some will want to die but cannot die. These left behind will fall for the antichrist. Some will unite with the army of the antichrist to fight against Christ at His coming back to earth to begin His thousand year reign. Because they would not receive the Lord, there came a time when they could not receive Him. Oh dear one, Today, while you have these moments, if you are not saved, don’t put this off for another moment. Receive Christ today….

BE READY..You are ready for the rapture when you have received Christ.

BE WORKING. The harvest is ripe. Let’s reach as many as we can, while we can

BE PRAYING. John prayed, “even so, come Lord Jesus. This should be our constant prayer.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS…It is no friend to the Christian. Speaking of the LORDSHIP OF CHRIST, these new “versions” are no friend. “The word, “LORD” as it relates to Christ has been eliminated in thirty nine places in the NASV and a similar number in the NIV.”

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

MAY I SAY AGAIN, THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS, SUPPORT, CALLS, AND KIND EXPRESSIONS CONCERNING THIS WORK OF FAITH, AND LABOR OF LOVE!

Vol. 37, No. 4 THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM.

Vol. 37, No. 4 April, 2013

 THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM.
         By Dr. George Mills

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Gal. 3:13-14).

Today, we hear much, especially from some TV preachers about the “Blessings Of Abraham.” The clear teaching of many of these is that “when we become Christians, we become Abraham’s seed, (nationally) thus inheriting everything God promised Abraham and his seed.” Abraham was saved by faith when he finally believed God, (Gen. 15:1-6, Ro. 4:1-8). We are saved the very same way Abraham was saved, making us Abraham’s seed, (spiritually) and not (nationally). Abraham is the father of “all them that believe though they be not circumcised, that righteousness might be imputed unto them also.” (Ro. 4:11). When we are saved we DO NOT become Jews. When we are saved, we DO NOT replace Israel. God has a plan for Israel and He will fulfill every promise He made concerning the nation of Israel. When we are saved we DO NOT inherit God’s covenant with Israel. A careful reading of Romans 9,10, 11 will clearly reveal that as a nation, as far as the promises to that nation is concerned, that nation, now in unbelief concerning the Messiah has been set aside, temporarily. God is now calling from all nations a people for His Name, called the CHURCH.. When the CHURCH is completed, God will call the CHURCH home, (1Thess. 4:13-18). Then God will deal with Israel as a nation once again. The only covenant in force in this dispensation we know as the “CHURCH AGE” is the covenant of  GRACE. GRACE goes deeper, higher, wider, and further than any Old Testament covenant. God has placed all of mankind in three groups; “Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the Church of God.” (1Cor 10:32). Three different classes. Definitely NOT the same.

JEWS…The covenant people. The Jews failed to keep their part of the covenant. Time and time again God had to deal with that nation severely. That nation rejected their Messiah in unbelief and God set that nation aside for awhile.

GENTILES. These are the unsaved around the world who have never received. Christ. Many have never heard about Christ and His Love for mankind.

CHURCH. These are the ones who have, by faith alone, received Jesus Christ as personal Saviour. These have believed the message of the Gospel. The Good News about the Virgin Birth, the sinless life, the vicarious death of Christ upon the Cross, His burial and His Glorious Resurrection, and His offer of eternal life to all who will receive Him. “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.” (Jn. 1:12). All have the same confession, “Jesus Christ is Lord.” This is a different dispensation. The CHURCH cannot go back to the Law and claim various promises there. If we go back to the Law, we must keep the WHOLE Law. We cannot go  to the Law and claim the things we like and not claim the things we dislike. “But Abraham was before there was a Law.” some will say. Abraham did many things before the Law, but nothing back there saved him. (Gen. 15:1-6, Ro. 4:1-8). Now, just what is the “BLESSING OF ABRAHAM as found in our text? Please note that the Scripture (KJB) says “Blessing,” SINGULAR, and not “Blessings,” PLURAL.
The BLESSING of Abraham is simple…Abraham was JUSTIFIED BY FAITH ALONE. When he finally believed God.(Gen. 15:1-6). Anyone who will receive Jesus Christ by Faith alone is saved, just like Abraham was saved. If you will take time and read the Book of Galatians, (only six chapters) a careful study there will reveal the ONE MAIN TRUTH that Paul is making is “The just shall live by faith.” (Gal. 3:11). Man is saved by GRACE through FAITH, plus and minus nothing! That’s the blessing of Abraham. Jew or Gentile are saved the same way. Don’t go off on this thinking that because Abraham was rich (financially) that God is going to make you rich financially. Being saved is NOT like winning some “Christian Lottery.” I do not know what God may have for you in His Great plan for your life. Wealth? Fine! OK, so be it. But God has not promised to make us all rich financially. Don’t fall for the various “money schemes” that are built on the blessings of Abraham that are supposed to make you rich “IF you invest in…” or “If you  send your money to…” They say; “God made Abraham rich. As a Christian you inherit Abraham’s covenant, therefore God is going to make you rich.” May I say that I AM RICH! Not financially. God has supplied my needs for these years since I have been saved. But RICH, I AM! Rich in Grace, Mercy, Love, and in my life, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER! It is common for me to get communication of various sorts from those who refer to us as “Grave Preachers.” I do not know what else to preach, and, may I add that I am not looking for something else to preach. I am happy to proclaim the message; “For by Grace are ye saved through Faith and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast.” Now, to Abraham’s blessing…

ABRAHAM’S BLESSING IS THAT JUSTIFICATION IS BY FAITH.
Faith is man’s part in Justification. I know of no better way to put it than simply saying what the Bible says. “Therefore being Justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ro. 5:1). Justification is a legal term. It means “to declared just.” You see, there is a long list of indictments against the human race in the Bible. Read Romans, chapters 1-3. Ch. 3 lists about 14 indictments against man. “ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”(Ro. 3:23). And, “The wages of sin is death.”(Ro. 6:23). Now, the work of Justification is an act of God whereby He takes the sinner, (all have sinned) and declares that sinner JUST, or, just as if he, or she had never sinned. The one who will believe God, not with the mind, but with the heart, the one who will believe the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God declares that one “JUST” or JUSTIFIED. It is all by FAITH. Faith is OUR PART. God, in His Mercy freely imparts that FAITH to the one who is willing to receive Christ. “For by Grace are ye saved through FAITH and that not of yourselves, it (Faith) is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9). He freely gives us the faith He demands. God is full of Grace!

ABRAHAM’S BLESSING IS THAT JUSTIFICATION IS BY GRACE.
“Being Justified freely by His GRACE through the Redemption that is in Jesus Christ.” (Ro. 3:24). “For ye know the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.” (1Cor. 8:9) It is all by God’s GRACE. This is His unmerited favor. There is nothing we can do to deserve Grace. God freely bestows His Grace upon all who, like Abraham, will believe God’s Word. Now, we do not believe the same message Abraham believed, but we are all saved the same way Abraham was saved. In Genesis 15:1-6 God gave promises to Abraham concerning the land, his seed, and the promise of the Messiah through his lineage. Abraham, after wasted years, finally BELIEVED GOD, and God saved him. “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining the flesh hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works he hath whereof to glory, but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of Grace but of debt. But to him that worketh not but BELIEVETH on Him that justifieth the ungodly, His faith is counted for righteousness.” (Ro. 4:1-5). The Bible (KJB) is very clear. We are justified by GRACE.
GRACE is God’s part in Justification.

ABRAHAM’S BLESSING IS THAT JUSTIFICATION IS APART FROM THE LAW.
“And this I say, that the covenant (Abrahamic) that was confirmed before of God in Christ was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.” (Gal. 3:17). Abraham was Justified By GRACE through Faith four hundred and thirty years BEFORE the Law was given. “Therefore we conclude that a man is Justified by faith WITHOUT THE DEEDS of the Law.” (Ro. 3:28) “If righteousness came by the Law, then Christ is dead in vain.’ (Gal. 2:21). If any man can be saved by any other way than by the plan which God has revealed, then everything about Christ; His birth, His Life, his violent death on the Cross, would be useless and vain.
Let’s see a few things about the Law.

THE LAW WAS TEMPORARY. Wherefore serveth the Law?  (what was the purpose of the Law?) it was added because of transgressions, til the Seed (Christ) should come.” (Gal. 3:19). “Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.” (Ro. 10:4).

THE LAW PREPARED THE WAY FOR CHRIST. “Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by Faith.” (Gal. 3:24). Everything in the Law pointed to the coming of Christ.

THE LAW NEVER SAVED ANYBODY.
We have already referred to many verses that bring this point out, here is another one, “Therefore by the deeds of the Law, there shall no flesh be justified in His sight, for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.” (Ro. 3:20). The Law shows us our need, but is helpless to do anything about that need, the Law points us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.

THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM IS THAT JUSTIFICATION IS APART FROM ANY EARHTLY LINEAGE OR HERITAGE.
“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith NOT and to seeds, as of many, but as of one, and to thy seed which is Christ.”(Gal. 3:16). The seed is identified again in v 19, “It was added…till the seed (Christ) should come.” The Israelites were convinced that just because they were descendants of Abraham, that made them right with God. “We be Abraham’s seed.” The Jews said in John 8:33. Christ’s reply was, “Ye are of your father, the devil.” (John 8:44). “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.” We are born again, made new, in Christ when we receive Christ and His finished work of Redemption. Then we are “born, not of blood, (our earthly lineage) nor the will of the flesh, (not by some work we may do) not the will of man, (not by any work of any man) but of God.” (Jn. 1:13).

THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM IS THAT JUSTIFICATION IS BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.
“Much more then being justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” (Ro. 5:9). “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.”  Faith in Christ, in His spotless birth, life, vicarious death on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His shed Blood is the ONLY means of forgiveness of sin.

THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM IS THAT ALL MANKIND, JEW OR GENTLE, BOND OR FREE, WHITE OR BLACK, YOUNG OR OLD  ARE JUSTIFIED BY FAITH ALONE IN CHRIST ALONE!  Don’t be carried away by this “covenant theology.” We are NOT Israelites, and we do NOT inherit the covenant God made with Abraham and his earthly seed. We do NOT replace Israel in any way. The CHURCH is an HEAVENLY People with HEAVENLY Promises. The Jews are an EARTHLY people with EARTHLY promises. To confuse the two is to try to walk in two different directions at the same time. You get nowhere trying that.  The only covenant made by God for this age is the covenant of GRACE. The GRACE of God is FREE! Not cheap, but FREE!. God paid the price in the Gift of His Son on the Cross. Grace will meet you when  you humbly submit to God, trusting only in Jesus Christ as Saviour. This simple, but most dynamic verse is yours to claim today; “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.” (Jn. 1:12). If you have never received Him by faith, today, NOW is your time. In your own words, from your heart, tell Him that you receive Him. He is there, where you are, in the person and presence of the Holy Spirit. He will hear your heart’s cry.
      Begin TODAY to live FOREVER!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

THINK ABOUT IT…God told Abraham that his seed would outnumber the grains of  dust of the earth, if  the dust could be numbered. The combined wealth of such a multitude could not add to, or take away one grain from that promise. GLORY TO GOD!!!

                      PRAYER
             By Pastor George Mills

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” (Jer. 33:3)..

God has given to His Church three wonderful gifts. Apart from Christ, the world cannot comprehend the wonder and treasure of the blessings God has given us.

THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
The Holy Spirit came into our lives the moment we received Jesus Christ as Saviour. Now, that’s a matter of fact, and not a matter of feelings. He indwells every believer. “In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.”(Eph 1:13). “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” (Eph 4:30). The Holy Spirit in the believer is that friend that “sticketh closer than a brother.” Get to know Him, fellowship with Him. He will guide you through life. He will take the things of Christ and teach them to you. Read John, Ch. 16.

THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD.
I trust that every reader out there knows that the ONLY BIBLE we use is the Old King James Bible. We reject the flood of  bible “versions” on the market today. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ is attacked in every new version. This flood of new versions should signal that “something is wrong here in all of this.” Don’t be carried away or misled by all of these changes. The Word never changes. And by the way, I have not found any problem with the italics of the KJB. Read the Bible. The Holy Spirit will open the Scriptures for you as you prayerfully read.

THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER.
God communicates with us through His Word. We communicate with God through prayer. Keep these lines of communication open. “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name, ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.: (Jn. 16:24). Now, let’s talk about prayer for a few moments. Let’s see what prayer is and what prayer does, or can do.

(A) THE PERSON OF PRAYER. We go to God in prayer through a PERSON. His Name is Jesus Christ. We do not go to God through some earthly priest, or preacher. We do not have to contact some earthly ‘religious’ headquarters. We do not have to contact some ‘800’ prayer ‘hot-line,’ we do not have to call some TV ministry. As born again believers in Christ, we have access to God. Christ bought us that access in His finished work of Redemption on the Cross. “For through Him, (Christ), we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.” (Eph. 2:18). There is no approach to God apart from the Person of Christ.

(B) THE PEOPLE OF PRAYER.
Most people pray at some time. When problems arise, when some crisis comes, people pray. But does God hear all prayers at anytime? “Now we know that God HEARETH NOT sinners, but if any man be a worshiper of God, and doeth His will, him HE HEARETH.” (Jn.9:31). Prayer that is not prayed to God in the Name of Jesus Christ is prayer in vain. The people of prayer are born again children of God. These have placed their faith and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. If you meet that qualification, then you are part of the family of God with all the rights to approach God in prayer at all times. You have as much right to approach the throne of God in prayer as anyone has right.

(C)THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER.
What a glorious privilege is ours. The unsaved world does not have this privilege, but you do, if you know Christ. I love the little poem that says;

         Satan trembles when he sees,
The weakest saint upon his knees.

THINK ABOUT IT…We have the right to talk to the God of Heaven anytime. I doubt very seriously that we will ever talk personally to the President of the United States. We could, however, if we were related to him. We are children of God and have the privilege to enter into His presence. Ain’t God Good!!!

(D) THE PREREQUISITES OF PRAYER.
Even though we have been born again, that Christ is our Saviour, sometimes there are things in our lives that hinder our prayers. Jesus said “If ye abide in Me and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.” (Jn. 15:7). We must make sure that our lives are clean, that there is nothing that mars our fellowship with Christ. “ABIDE” simply means, “keep the fellowship unbroken.” Let’s see just a few things that slip in and robs us of our fellowship with God.

(a) UNCONFESSED SIN. Believers do sin. Now, that’s not a license, but a matter of fact. “If we, (believers) say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1Jn 1:8).
Known sin in our lives hinders prayer. Please read Isaiah 59:1-2. The Psalmist said, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” (Psa. 66:18). Known sin in our lives must be confessed and forsaken if we are to keep that wonderful access open. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1Jn. 1:9).

(b) UNFORGIVING SPIRIT. Many Biblical passages speak of an unforgiving spirit. Read the one in the model prayer in Mt 6:9-15. Let each one of us make sure that there is not an unforgiving spirit in us. Christ has forgiven us. We should never have a problem with an unforgiving spirit…However, we do! This robs us of much answered prayer.

(c) UNBELIEF HINDERS PRAYER. James said, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like the wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.” (James 1:6-7). “He that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Heb. 11:6).

(d) UNRIGHTED FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS HINDER PRAYER. “Likewise ye husbands dwell with them, according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife as the weaker vessel as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your PRAYERS BE NOT HINDERED.” (1Pet. 3:7). There are many areas of our Christian life to be maintained so that our prayers are not hindered. The same God who said, “I will answer thee.” also said “He will not hear.” Between the “I WILL,” and the “I WILL NOT,” is our responsibility to keep our lives clean before God and before the world so that the most common thing in our lives is answered prayer!
“Brethren, pray for us.”

             ANSWERED PRAYER
Pastor George Mills

I prayed a prayer the other day,
But I could not find right words to say,
When the answer came, it was clear to see,
That someone else had prayed for me.

Who is this one who knew my need,
This one who knew right words to plead.
This one who carried to the throne,
My thoughts and prayers as though his own?

Somehow I knew who prayed for me,
This Friend who helps so willingly.
He knows the thoughts that come to mind,
That make right words so hard to find.

The Holy Spirit prayed for me,
In love and mercy He could see,
The Grace I needed in that hour,
A refuge from the enemy’s power.

With thanks I prayed again today,
And I knew what words that I must say.
From a grateful heart as I knelt there,
I said thank you God for answered prayer.

                  FROM MY HEART
                     By Mildred Mills

             SEASON OF NEW LIFE

Spring is right around the corner but you would think we are still in the middle of winter by the way the trees and shrubs look. They are not pretty. All the dead limbs and ugly left overs of winter have been cut back, pruned. My husband asked if our neighbors shrubs had been killed by the winter freeze and I explained to him they had been cut back but new life would grow. They were shaped up but still ugly because the new growth had not quite made it’s appearance, but soon and very soon the shrubs and trees will be beautiful again, all dressed up in their brand new attire! Remember, after the pruning comes new life!
The same is true in our own lives as Christians. We become weathered and weary when troubles come our way. We need to ask the Lord to cut back everything in our lives that would hinder us from having the joy that He has so graciously given  us as His children. Anything in a Christian’s life that takes a smile and turns it upside down needs to be cut back. It’s ugly! Our countenance says a lot about us, it sorta tells it all. Now Easter is here, the time we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus, our Saviour.
Jesus came forth from the grave, up from the grave He arose and is alive forever more! That is Joy unspeakable! A season of new life. The grass is greener, the birds are singing, flowers are beginning to bloom and before you know it those ugly shrubs will be beautiful again!
                   HAPPY EASTER!
If you have never accepted Jesus as your Saviour, do it today. Tell Him that you are a sinner and need to be saved. Ask Him into your heart and watch Him make something beautiful of your life. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Ro, 10:9) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13.

        TEEN TALKS THAT MATTER
                    By Ashley Stevens

                JESUS PAID IT ALL

A verse that has been laid on my heart is Isaiah 53:5-6; “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Jesus offered forgiveness over and over, however, His message would not be heard. Jesus was betrayed, beaten, and murdered. He was whipped, His side was pierced, and He was spit upon. He was crucified for our transgressions. He was punished for our sins. However, through Christ’s death we can have eternal life.
We have a debt we can never pay, but the best part of it all is that all we have to do is to realize that we are sinners, repent, and ask Him to come into our heart and be our Lord and Saviour. He paid for our sins. He was the answer to our debt. God tells us over and over again that He will forgive us no matter how many times we sin or how big the sin might be. Salvation is offered freely. We can sit here and focus on each mistake that we have made, try to run from our past, and try to hide our faults, but God has offered to take all of those sins away, if we just simply let Him.
Each day we need to wake up and thank God for providing a way for our sins to be forgiven.

Until next time,                Ashley Stevens

THINK ABOUT IT…The world attacks and mocks the BOOK OF GOD. The one thing the world needs is the BOOK OF GOD. The medicine that the Doctor prescribed will do no good if we do not follow the directions on how and when to take it. THE BOOK will do no good unless you follow the directions.
By the way, the BOOK OF GOD is the Old King James Bible. Beware, accept NO SUBSTITUTE!
WANDERING THROUGH THE WILDERNESS….

THINK ABOUT IT…Did you know that the “Clapping of the hands” is referred to nine times in the Old testament, and none in the New Testament? Once they clapped their hands at the anointing of King Joash, (2Kings 11:12). Two times nature is referred to as “clapping the hands”(Isa. 55:12, Psa 98:8).Which is of course, a figure of speech. In every other case the clapping of hands is used, it is in reference to judgment, or impending judgment. Even the beautiful 47th Psalm is anticipating judgment. Whatever happened to the old fashioned Bible way of praising God? Where are the “Amen’s” the “Halleluiahs” the “Thank you God” and “Thank you Jesus?”The Bible way of praising God is NOT with the clapping of the hands, but with our mouth. “With my mouth I will make known Thy faithfulness.” We have brought so much “world” into the church that it is hard to tell what is “world” and what is “church.”

THINK ABOUT THIS…Did you ever notice that in the Bible where Satan was working, the people fell BACKWARDS, (Jn 18;5-6). And where God was praised, the people fell on THEIR FACES? (Rev. 7:11, 11:16).

THINK ABOUT IT…Winds of doctrine are blowing today. Every day there is something new., and many are falling for everything because of the forsaking of sound doctrine. KNOW YOUR BIBLE! Study your Bible, (KJB). And speaking of the Bible, don’t fall for these new “versions” NIV, TEV, NKJV, ASV, NASV, etc. There are many more new “versions” coming. A “bible” for whatever you want to believe. This is where the root of the problem lies. The Word of God does not change. It is forever settled. In the beginning, Satan used the serpent to corrupt the Word. Today he uses the minds of educated men to do the same. THINK ABOUT IT!

THINK ABOUT IT…KJB…”In whom we have redemption through His blood.” (Col. 1:14).
NIV..“Through His blood”..omitted. (Col. 1:14).

IF I DO MY BEST, WILL I GO TO HEAVEN WHEN I DIE?

Multiplied millions around the world have the idea that if they try hard enough, if they are sincere enough, if they work enough, if they refrain enough, that if they do their very best, God will receive them into Heaven.

BUT THAT’S NOT WHAT GOD SAYS!

Your best is not good enough. The Bible says that our righteusnesses are as filthy rags.” (Isa. 64:6). In light of what God has done, our best does not measure up.

The best has already been done.

God sent His Best. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (Jn. 3:16)

Jesus gave His best. “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” (Ro. 5:6).

The Best has already been done. You must receive that, or reject that. There is no other way, no other plan that God will accept.

TEEN TALKS THAT MATTER – PEACE FROM THE LORD

TEEN TALKS THAT MATTER By Ashley Stevens

PEACE FROM THE LORD

Are you struggling in your life right now? Are you searching for peace? Peace from the Lord is a treasure from Heaven. The Lord purchased this peace for you and I through the Blood He shed on Calvary. You are able to receive this gift by just simply trusting God as your Lord and Saviour. Then, through the midst of life’s storms, you will have peace beyond understanding and full of glory. Not the peace this world has to offer, but sweet peace of knowing that whatever trials and tribulations you experience, He will see you through. The Lord’s peace is like a bright and golden sunlight shining on you, regardless of the storms that rage around you. When you are blessed with days of continuous sunshine, the darkness of your surroundings will grow dimmer. However, on days that may be darker, the Lord’s peace stands out in your circumstances. We can see these days as opportunities for His light to shine in us. The Lord is teaching us each day to practice peace so that we are able to overpower darkness. Never grow weary and lose heart. Continue to thank God when things aren’t going your way because spiritual blessings can come wrapped up in trials and tribulations. Rejoice in the face of hardship, for the Lord has overcome the world. Don’t mistake God’s patience for His absence. His timing is perfect, and His presence is constant. He is always with you even through the storms.

Until next time, may God bless you each and every day. Ashley Stevens

FROM MY HEART – IS IT REALLY THE FLU?

FROM MY HEART By Mildred Mills IS IT REALLY THE FLU?

We are right in the middle of Flu season and what a terrible illness to have. Seems like folks never get over it and have severe complications from this dreaded sickness. I would like to share with you the following article that was printed 60 years ago in the Baptist Bible Tribune. And is just as up to date and true today as it was back then… Flu and the Sundayitis “We have noticed that in some cases this flu has been lapsing into the dreaded disease called Sundayitis. Sundayitis is a disease that affects mainly the spiritually undernourished Christian. It’s symptoms are much the same in each case. The first attack almost always comes on Sunday mornings when a person thinks about getting up and going to Bible School, at this time. Sundayitis strikes it’s dreaded blow, and the thought comes, “I’ve worked so hard all week and besides that I’ve had a touch of the flu and beside that Sunday is the only day that I can rest and I need the rest.” At this point the said afflicted person usually makes one healthy turn in bed and back to sleep they go, while at the Church a faithful few struggle to keep the Church doors open, make it grow a little, pay the bills, so the Church will still be there for the afflicted persons to enjoy after they recover (if they do) from Sundayitis. About nine or ten o’clock when it’s too late to get ready for Bible School or Church, Sundayitis usually recedes and the afflicted person eats a hearty breakfast, goes to Aunt Susie’s for dinner, a drive in the country in the afternoon, or some other sport. Then about seven in the evening just before Church, another attack will most surely come to the afflicted person, the only known self-prescribed remedy is a quiet evening at home or at the neighbors. After Church the patient can enjoy a restful night and will not suffer any more attacks until the following Sunday.” (copied) We might get the Flu, but Sundayitis is one complication we will not have if our hearts are right with God. “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” (Psa. 122:1). To be in God’s House with those that love Him and to sing praises to Him and hear His Word being preached should bring joy, sweet peace, and happiness to us if we are truly His Children. See You Sunday!

Vol. 37, No. 3 THE UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST

Vol. 37, No. 3 March, 2013

THE UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST
By Dr. George Mills

“For God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
God gave His “ONLY BEGOTTEN SON.” Only Begotten means ONE OF A KIND. It means “UNIQUE.” There has never been another one like Him, and there will never be another. ONE OF A KIND.” The incarnate Christ was not like Adam before Adam sinned. Christ was not like Adam after Adam sinned. Christ was not like any other man. He was not like an angel, or an archangel. He was ONE OF A KIND. He was unique.

This message was born a few years ago because of an article written by a man who believed that the blood of Jesus Christ was just human blood and not Divine. Of course I do not believe that, no, not for a moment. “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the Church of God, which he,hath purchased with his own blood.” (Acts 20:28). He (God) purchased with His, (God’s) own blood. As I read the above mentioned article I said to myself, “This is the teaching of a popular radio preacher in California. That particular preacher believes and teaches that there is no efficacy in the Blood of Jesus, that it was Christ’s death, and NOT His blood that saves. He says that “blood” is symbolic of his dying. The writer went on to state that he was a fundamentalist. Of course, he is not!. A fundamentalist does not have to refer to some “Greek” or “Hebrew” we take the Bible literally. We believe that the Bible is the Infallible, Inerrant, preserved, Word of God. If anybody’s Bible is faulty, then you have a problem. I certainly do not know of any of the ‘ORIGINALS’ that men are referring to today. Many of the old fundamental schools of the faith have taken this route. If you search enough you will find a Doctor, or Professor who will agree with anything you are searching for. The writer of the mentioned article seemed to be trying to make the following points.

(A). The Blood of Christ was human and not Divine,

(B). When Jesus died on the cross, nothing further is essential for salvation

(C Jesus did not ascend into Heaven with His blood.

Now, let me share with you some of the UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST, and while doing so, answer some of these things mentioned.

1. HIS BEGINNING WAS UNIQUE. There has never been another like Him and there never will be another.
There are two “beginnings” in the Bible (KJB) in reference to Christ.

(A).“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1) According to John
1:1-3, v10, and Heb. 1:1-3, that Great Creator was Christ. The “beginning” in these texts might
have the slightest possibility of being dated. I know not how, but there might be, within the realm of possibilities, some way to put a date on Genesis 1;1. You see, there was a time when when this earth was not here. God came here and with His wisdom and power created this world by His spoken word. When, or how long ago, I cannot guess, nor can anyone, but still, within the realm of possibility, Genesis 1:1 may be dated.
I know of another “Beginning” that is not within the realm of possibility of ever being dated…

(B) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the word was God.” The writers of the New World translation had to write their new bible just to insert the letter “a” between ‘was’ and ‘god’ , (was A god), in order to get around the eternality of Christ. All of the computers of all the world working 24 hours a day, tabulating hours, days, weeks, and years until time is no more, cannot come up with a date of this beginning. That’s the UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST. He always was, always has been, and always will be. UNIQUE IN HIS BEGINNING.

2. HIS BIRTH WAS UNIQUE.
Infidelity has attacked His birth since the night the Heavenly Choir sang, “Glory to God in the Highest. As I have stated, He did not have His beginning in the manger some 2,000 years ago. The Bible (KJB) says; Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign, behold a VIRGIN shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name immanuel.” “God with us.” The Great God of the Eternal ages came down to a Virgin’s womb, to be born among men. “But thou, Bethlehem-Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2). His birth caused the heavens to be out of order. His Birth brought Heavenly visitors. His Birth upset kingdoms.. His Birth upset the forces of the darkness of this world. His BIRTH…UNIQUE…ONE OF A KIND!

3. HIS BODY WAS UNIQUE. One of a kind. His Body housed the Perfect God. His Body housed the Perfect man. Both in one person. There never was, there never will be another like it. “Wherefore when he cometh into the world he saith, sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not BUT A BODY THOU HAST PREPARED ME.” (Heb. 10:5) “By the which we are sanctified through the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Heb. 10:10).

His Human Nature Was Unique. He was Perfect Man. His nature was perfect. He could not have sinned. There was nothing in Him, or no place in Him for sin to enter. Satan tried everything he had, (Mt. 4:1-11) and found no weakness. This in no way dehumanizes Christ. He was perfect man, with all human senses. He could see, hear, taste, speak, and feel, but he could NOT sin. He had no fallen nature. Check the Scriptures. Can you find another body like the body in Hebrews 10:5; “A body hast thou prepared me.” Has there ever been another body transfigured like the body of Christ? (Mt. 17:1-8). Some in the “Word Of Faith” movement say that since you are saved you are as much “God” as Christ was God. This is NOT so! Christ alone possessed the completeness, the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

His Divine Nature was unique. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.” “Great is the mystery of Godliness, God was manifest in the flesh..” UNIQUE…ONE OF A KIND.

CHRIST’S BODY WAS UNIQUE IN THAT IT IS THE ONLY BODY TO HOUSE THE FULLNESS, THE COMPLETENESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD.” (Isa 11:1-2). There you have the seven-fold fullness of the Spirit of God housed in the Body of Christ. UNIQUE!, “It pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.” (Col. 1:19).

4. HIS BLOOD WAS UNIQUE.
There never has been, there never will be blood like His blood! He was conceived of the Holy Ghost. Everything He needed for the God-Man was in that seed of conception. Now, don’t run for your “Greek” or “Hebrew” text when I quote this verse. The Bible is either true, or it is not. It cannot be both.. “Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock of God over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he, (God) hath purchased with His (God’s) own blood.” (Acts 20:28). His Blood is PRECIOUS BLOOD. “Forasmuch as ye know ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1Pet. 1:18-19). Silver and gold will perish. But the BLOOD OF CHRIST is incorruptible. Long after silver and gold have perished and vanished into nothing, the BLOOD OF CHRIST will still be incorruptible.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS PRECIOUS BECAUSE OF WHOSE IT IS.
It is God’s own Blood! “But, but, but, God doesn’t have a body, He is a Spirit.” But for a while He did! “But God doesn’t have Blood.” But for awhile He did! “But God can’t die.” But one day He did! But because of who He is, He arose from the dead. His is HOLY BLOOD “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall be though worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the Blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an UNHOLY THING, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace.” (Heb. 10:29). An Unholy thing? A common thing? Don’t count the Blood of Christ as “common.” It was not.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS PRECIOUS BECAUSE OF WHERE IT IS.
His Blood was not left on the street for man to walk through. His blood was not left for worms to eat. Please read all of Hebrews, Ch. 9. “Neither by the blood of goats and calves but BY HIS OWN BLOOD HE entered ONCE into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” (Heb. 9:12). Notice that He did NOT say, “By WAY of His Blood.” He said, “BY HIS BLOOD” He entered the Holy Place. In the earthly tabernacle, God was not satisfied until the blood of the sacrifice was sprinkled on the Mercy Seat. That Old Testament Mercy Seat was but a SHADOW of the real one in Heaven. Between his death and resurrection, Christ entered the Heavenly Holy of Holies with HIS OWN BLOOD, and there applied His Blood upon the Heavenly Mercy Seat , and God was satisfied and our Eternal Redemption was complete. Christ was raised from the dead to become our Eternal High Priest!

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS PRECIOUS BECAUSE OF WHAT IT DOES.
One writer said of the Blood of Christ; “Apart from Jesus’ death, the shed blood has no power.”
NO POWER?…

In His Blood we have REDEMPTON. The Bible (KJB) says, “In whom we have REDEMPTION through His Blood, the forgiveness of sin according to the riches of His grace.” (Col. 1:14). Of course, the new ‘versions in pulpits today leave out “THROUGH HIS BLOOD”(N.A.S.V.) My how the devil hates the Blood of Christ.

In His Blood we have PROPITIATION. “God hath set forth to be a PROPITIATION through faith in His Blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed..” (Ro. 3:25)(1John 2:2). PROPITIATION meaning that the wrath of God against sin has been satisfied in the finished work of Christ.

In His Blood we have JUSTIFICATION. “Much more then being justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” (Ro. 5:9).
Justification meaning “to be declared “Just.” Just as if I’d never sinned.

In His Blood we have REMISSION. “Without the shedding of blood there is no remission.” (Heb 9:22). Remission meaning, pardon, forgiveness.

In His Blood we have RECONCILIATION. “And having made peace through the Blood of His Cross, by Him to RECONCILE all things unto himself by Him I say, whether they be things in earth or things in Heaven.” (Col. 1:20) because of the fall of man all things between God and man were lost. Christ, through His work of redemption bought all things back, and restored all things. A restoration between God and man because of the Shed Blood of Christ.

In His Blood we have SANCTIFICATION. “Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own Blood, suffered without the gate.” (Heb 13:12). Sanctify meaning to purify, to cleanse. To make holy. Did I hear someone say that the shed blood has no power? How ridiculous!

In His Blood we have COMMUNION. “But now in Christ ye who were sometimes afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” (Eph. 2:13).
Before we met Christ we were “afar off,” and away from God. In Christ we have perfect Communion with the Father in Heaven. Christ’s Blood brought us to God.

“Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own Blood. (Rev. 1:5).

In every passage I have mentioned, and so many more, the Blood is literal, and NOT figurative..

5. HIS BRIDE IS UNIQUE.
His Bride believed a unique MESSAGE. That message is about the sinless life of Christ, His atoning work on the Cross, His burial, and His bodily resurrection from the dead, all in full payment for sin. (1Cor 15:1-5).

His Bride was saved by a unique METHOD. That method is By Grace, through Faith alone. “For by Grace are ye saved through Faith and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9).
His Bride is secure by a unique MANDATE. A “formal order” that “His Bride is kept by the Power of God, and Ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1Pet. 1:5).

Before I close this I must mention just a couple of other things.
Concerning the Blood of Christ one writer stated that “when Jesus died on the the cross, nothing further is essential for our salvation. Would that writer be so gullible as to overlook the Glorious Resurrection of Christ? If Christ is not risen from the dead, then all of the pain of Calvary, all of his shed Blood is in vain. But, Hallelujah! He Lives!

Do I plead the Blood? You bet I do! Every day of my life I run to that refuge, “If we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth from all sin.”(1Jn. 1:9).

Do not dishonor the Blood of Christ! It is Holy, and not common. (Heb. 10:29). It is incorruptible, (1Pet. 1:18-19. The Blood of Christ is on the Heavenly Mercy Seat, far beyond the reach of man or satanic forces. There for our eternal Redemption.

And you, my dear friend, have you, by Faith alone, trusted in the finished work of Christ? He lived for you, he died for you, He lives for you now, and He loves you! You must receive Him into your heart and life. He will never come in unbidden by you. He will come into your life and make life worth living. You can begin TODAY to Live FOREVER! “But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His Name.” (Jn 1:12).

Oh how I praise God for the Uniqueness, the one of a kind Saviour, our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.

FROM MY HEART
By Mildred Mills
IS IT REALLY THE FLU?

We are right in the middle of Flu season and what a terrible illness to have. Seems like folks never get over it and have severe complications from this dreaded sickness. I would like to share with you the following article that was printed 60 years ago in the Baptist Bible Tribune. And is just as up to date and true today as it was back then…
Flu and the Sundayitis
“We have noticed that in some cases this flu has been lapsing into the dreaded disease called Sundayitis. After Church the patient can enjoy a restful night and will not suffer any more attacks until the following Sunday.”
(copied)
We might get the Flu, but Sundayitis is one complication we will not have if our hearts are right with God.

TEEN TALKS THAT MATTER

THE THREE MERCY SEATS
By Pastor George Mills

“Now Preacher.” you may say. “I know there is a Mercy Seat in the Old Testament. It was part of the Tabernacle Furnishings, but I am not aware of Three Mercy seats.”If you will follow me I believe that I can show you Three Mercy Seats. Take a few moments and read the Scriptures that I will refer to. We do not have room to print everything.

The Old Testament Mercy seat is in Exodus 25:17-22.

The New Testament Mercy Seat is in John 20:11-12.
The Eternal Mercy seat is in Hebrews 9:111-14.

1. THE OLD TESTAMENT MERCY SEAT.
Exodus 25:17-22. This section of the Scriptures is the giving of the Law of God. God is making a way of approach for sinful man. This was all of God and not the works of man. God gave the dimensions of the Tabernacle, the Brazen Alter, the Table of Shewbread,, the Golden candlestick, the Veil and the Ark. When opened, the lid of the Ark formed the Mercy seat. The Most Holy Place was behind the Veil at the Mercy Seat. The High Priest, once a year, on the day of Atonement took the blood of a sacrificial animal and went behind the Veil and there, on the Mercy seat, he sprinkled the blood. That blood did nothing to take away sin, it only covered sin until the next day of Atonement. God said, “And there will I meet with thee, and will commune with thee from above the Mercy Seat.” Let’s see a few things about the Old Testament Mercy Seat.

IT WAS MADE OF WOOD. Wood speaks of the Humanity of Christ. God became man and dwelt among us in Christ.

IT WAS COVERED WITH GOLD. Gold speaks of the Deity of Christ, reminding us that Christ was both Human and Divine.

THERE WAS LIMITED ACCESS THERE. Only the High Priest dare to enter there, once a year. The common people had to go to God through the priesthood.

INSIDE THE ARK THERE WERE TABLES OF THE LAW, the Pot of Manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded. The Law pointed to Christ, the Living Word, The Manna pictures Christ, the living Bread, and the Rod pictured Christ, the resurrected, Living Lord.

ON THE LID OF THE ARK THERE WERE TWO CHERIBIM. They were made of gold. They were positioned facing each other. Their wings stretched over them and the tips of their wings touched over the center of the Mercy Seat.
I see this scene repeated at the New testament Mercy seat.

THE MERCY SEAT WAS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE GOD WOULD MEET WITH MAN. Man has to come to God on God’s terms. “And there will I meet with thee.” This Mercy Seat was Temporal. It pointed to a Greater Mercy Seat.

2. THE NEW TESTAMENT MERCY SEAT.

The scene changes. No longer do we view the Tabernacle. Here before us now is an empty tomb. (John 20:11-12) “But Mary stood without the sepulcher weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the sepulcher. And seeing TWO ANGELS in white sitting, one at the head, and the other at the feet where the body of Jesus had lain.”

THE TOMB WAS OPEN. Just as the Ark in the old testament was open.

TWO ANGELS WERE THERE. Just as with the Old testament Mercy seat, two Angels were positioned in the same manner. Now, unlike the Old testament Mercy seat, this Tomb is empty. There are no tables of Law For Christ is the Living Word. There was no Pot of Manna, for Christ is the Living Bread. There is no Rod that budded, for Christ is the Living Lord.

This Tomb, This Mercy Seat is the ONLY PLACE where God will meet with man. Man has his own thoughts and ideas about how and when he will meet with God, but God has appointed that meeting place. “There will I meet with you.” “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE IN THINE HEART THAT GOD HATH RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD thou shalt be saved.(Ro. 10:9). God will meet you there, at the empty tomb. You may believe all there is about Christ, His Eternality, His Incarnation, Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, His death on the Cross, but you MUST believe the message of the Empty tomb. That’s God’s Mercy Seat. The only place where you can meet Him. This Mercy seat is for sinners to find Eternal Life in the One who died, paid the sin debt, and lives to set men free.

3. THE ETERNAL MERCY SEAT. Hebrews 9:11-13. Especially verse 12. “By His own Blood He entered once into the Holy Place having obtained Eternal Redemption for us. Christ entered the Holy Place in Heaven with His own Blood. He literally placed His own Blood on that Heavenly Mercy seat, far beyond the reach of any mortal. Today you will find Him faithfully at the Eternal Mercy Seat. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of Grace, that we may obtain Mercy and find Grace to help in time of need. This Mercy Seat is for the Saints of God, there for us to find the help we need as we take our petitions to Him, “who ever liveth to make intercession for us.”
The Old was Temporal, the New is Eternal. The Old was limited. The New is limited only by our lack of Faith and trust in Him who has been our help in all generations.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS…It is no friend to the Christian. The best friend you have may let you down, or disappoint you. But you can find that unfailing Friend, there, AT THE MERCY SEAT.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

THINK ABOUT IT…God said it, I believed it. It was settled whether I believed it or not.

THE MERCY SEAT
By Pastor George mills
“Let us therefore come boldly before the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find Grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16).

There is a place where we can meet,

Beyond all worldly care,
A place that’s called the Mercy seat,
We meet our Saviour there.

I cannot work and win my way,
And then the Saviour meet,
But freely meet Him day by day,
There at the Mercy Seat.

I cannot give my worldly fare,
And buy the Saviour’s meet,
But by His Grace, I meet him there,
There at the Mercy seat.

Upon the Mercy Seat above,
The Blood was sprinkled there,
Salvation sealed by God’s great love,
There, in Heaven fair,

To boldly come before His Throne,
For Grace to help in my need,
To share my desire with Him alone,
As He listens to my heart’s plead.

Beyond the powers of the air,
There, our Saviour we meet,
Secure because the Blood is there,
There on the Mercy Seat.
