THE WORD OF GOD

“Every Word of God is pure, He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His Words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Prov. 30:5-6)

“The Words of the LORD are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” (Psa. 12:6-7).

The Word of God is Pure.
The Word of God is Preserved.
The Word of God is Powerful.

This preacher, this Publication has always stood firmly on the Inspiration of the Scriptures. This is perhaps the most important subject of all in this modern “religious world.” There are so many versions, that no one can keep up with. Believe me, God is NOT in all of this confusion about His Word. I believe that the RECEIVED TEXT, the text of the King James Bible, is the Inspired, Preserved Word of God. I accept that without any reservation.
While studying for a message and thinking what would I write about if I knew that this would be my last message? What would I like to leave with the world if I knew this is my final word to the
world. This Publication is now in our 39th year. We had our beginning in June, 1976. Since that time, God has opened doors that I never dreamed of. We have never kept any records of how many thousands of homes, churches, schools, prisons, and now on the internet, many thousands of readers in many world countries, and in nine world languages. I praise God for all He has done. But if this would be my last words, what would I write about?

Would I write about our SAVIOUR? Can I find words that adequately describe His meaning to me? I think not! I love what Paul said, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God WHO LOVED ME, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.” (Gal. 2:20). Would my last words be about Him?

Or would I write about the SPIRIT? The Holy Spirit that indwells every Born again believer has been the “Friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” I have been in hard places, places of trial and testing. The Holy Spirit has been with me all the way. Through Good times and through Bad times. The “religious” world has so mis-used, and mis-led in the teachings about the Holy Spirit that He has been put aside so many times. But He is my Friend, my Guide, my Teacher, my Wisdom and strength. Would my last words be about Him?

Or, would I write about the years of Service that God has given me? Over 50 years of preaching His Gospel. Serving in Churches in Florida and Georgia. My, what a joy this has been. There has been some trying times, but many good times. I thank God that He has seen fit to “separate me and call me by His Grace.” (Gal. 1:15).
I do sincerely trust and believe that all of these things have been in every message. But the one thing above all others to write about is THE PURITY OF THE WORD OF GOD (KJB).

Our nation is in trouble today because we have failed to educate our younger generations about the Fundamentals of our great nation. Young people today know very little about American History the founding fathers, the great documents that guarantee freedom. Liberal teachers have flooded our education system. The Fundamentals of this nation are being eroded.

And so it is with the “religious system.” What has been happening in our Seminaries? The very same things. Liberal seminary professors have been teaching young preachers. They have mocked the miracles of the Bible, and the fundamentals of the faith and have turned out so many that have a weak, watered down kind of faith that believes anything and stands for nothing.

The Bible has been so refused by our government, congress, the courts, the educational system, that unless many begin to see, and to STAND, I do not like to think about what lies ahead

Give us Godly men who still hold high the Scriptures, and from the heart declare “I believe in the Inspired, Inerrant Word of God.” This is rapidly vanishing from our pulpits today.

THE PURITY OF THE WORD OF GOD.
In the beginning, in his attempt to corrupt the Word of God, Satan said to Eve, “Yea, hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree in the garden?
And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it lest ye die. And the serpent said, ye shall NOT surely die.” Eve added, lest ye die.”The serpent added just one small, three letter word; “NOT.” This has been happening since then. Just a small word removed here, or there. No damage done, and “you can understand it better,” Satan used the mouth of a serpent then. Now, he uses the minds of educated men.
“Every Word of God is pure.”
The four angelic policemen in Isaiah 6, Rev 4;6 seem to have one responsibility and that is, to guard the Holiness, the Purity of God.

PURE IN IT’S ORIGIN.
The Bible originated with God. I believe in the “plenary” (full) “Verbal” (words) Inspiration of the Bible. The Inspired, Preserved Word of God down to the last letter, free from error and omission. “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2Pet. 1:21).

PURE IN IT’S ORGINIZATION.
It begins with the beginning, (Gen. 1:1) and ends with the ending, (Rev. 22:21) and everything between the beginning and the ending is in perfect order, just as God intended. There is nothing hap-hazard or out of place. It is properly organized, arranged, lettered, numbered and accounted for. Let no one be guilty of adding to or taking from it( Prov. 30:6). There are many modern critics who propose objections to the King James Bible. They say, “The King James Bible itself has been revised several times. Everything has to be up-dated from time to time.”
There has been NO revision. To revise something is to change it. The TEXT of the King James Bible has not been changed. In the years 1612, 1629, 1631, 1638 the PRINTING STYLE ONLY was changed to correct printing errors only. There was no Textual change! In 1745, 1762, 1769 There was some correction in spelling and punctuation, but again, NO TEXTUAL CHANGES! Our Bible (KJB) came through that period in history and passed each test with flying colors. I praise God for His work in Inspiring and Preserving His Word as He promised. (Ps, 12:6-7). By the way, the italics were placed by the translators to help us understand. Sometimes translations from one language to another need helping words. (cont’d pg 3)
The italics were placed by the translators so we would know they are helping words. This is not true with the modern versions.

PURE IN IT’S ORDINANCES. Ordinance meaning, “A law set forth by authority.”
“The Law of the LORD is Perfect.” (Ps. 19:7).

The CIVIL ordinances are pure. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” (Psa. 33:12). Our founding fathers consulted the Law of god and that law is reflected in their decisions. George Washington said, “It is impossible to govern without the Bible.”

The SOCIAL ordinances are pure. The Bible (KJB) teaches us how to live in society, to be a better parent, better mate, better person, better citizen.

The MORAL ordinances are pure. Nine of the ten Commandments are repeated in the New Testament. We do not worship on the Sabbath, (Saturday) we worship on the Lord’s Day, (Sunday). We have forsaken the concept of Biblical morality and as a result we are reaping a weakened society.. Just a few words about Marriage….

“But from the beginning of creation God made them Male and Female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife. And they twain shall be one flesh, so then they are no more twain but one flesh What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Mk. 10:6-9) (Gen. 2:21-25). Marriage WAS, IS, and ALWAYS will be MALE and FEMALE joined together in marriage for companionship and for the propagation of the human race.
MALE and FEMALE created He them. Everything else concerning the sexes is man-made and is corruptible. (Ro. 1:18-32).
This is the teaching of the Word of God. It matters not what the “supreme” court may decide, there is a higher Court with guidance, blessings, and penalties already decided.

The SPIRITUAL ordinances are pure. How to get right with God. How to live for God. How to be ready for life and to live with eternity in view. How to live with God’s Word as our true guide through life.

THE PRESERVATION OF THE WORD.
(.Psalm 12:6-7)”Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Today, I think of the many efforts of men to weaken or destroy the Word of God only to find out that the Word is alive, powerful, and indestructible. Old enemies have passed off the scene, but the Bible endures. Another generation has arrived with their attempts, and in like manner, they too will pass. But the Word stands. Today, in an attempt to update, and adapt to this world, the church has courted the world. New music styles have invaded the church. New Methods, new Bibles. The church has become more like Hollywood than we are like Christ. Vast crowds are being attracted. Many have forsaken the doctrines of old and have adopted the doctrines of men. “The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ear from the truth and shall be turned to fables.” (2Tim 4:3-4).
Scientists attack, but the Bible stands!
Archaeologists attack, but the Bible stands!
Mathematicians attack, but the Bible stands!
Atheists attack but the Bible stands!
Religion attacks, but the Bible still stands!

THE POWER OF THE WORD.

With His Word, God spoke the worlds into existence. (Heb. 1:1-3) (Col 1:16-7) “For by Him were all things created that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible, and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers, all things were created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” (see Gen 1-2).

He saved me by that same Word. “Being born again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the Word of God which liveth and abideth for ever.” The Holy Spirit took that same word and implanted it into my heart and (Cont’d pg 4)
it produced the new Birth in me.
We are set free by the Power of that same word. Free from the Penalty of sin. Free from the Power of sin that enslaves. People are bound by the power of sin. The Word of God, believed, and prayed over, and trusted can bring deliverance from any and every sin that binds men.

We are kept secure by the power of the Word of God. Please read a simple verse such as John 3:16; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Anyone who simply trusts Christ has, right now, everlasting life.” “He that heareth my Word and believeth on Him that sent me hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.” (Jn 5:24). There are many verses that bring joy and gladness to the Believer concerning his security.

THE PROGRAM OF THE WORD…

We are to EAT THE WORD. “Thy Words were found and I did eat them, and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart..” (Jer. 15:16). There are hours of real joy and gladness for the one who will search through the Word.

We are to MEDITATE UPON THE WORD. Psalm 1:20 “And in His Law doth he meditate day and night.”
I honestly believe that we have very few Bible readers today. Oh yes, we have many bibles, but few readers. I believe that if we had more readers we would not have this flood of watered down versions we have today. We just believer whatever the speaker says. We had best check for ourselves.

We are to LOVE THE WORD. “O how I love Thy Law.” (Psalm 119:97) The Psalmist learned that through God’s Law he found that he knew more than his teachers knew.

We are to LEARN THE WORD. “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee.” (Psa 119:110). Don’t just read it, learn it.

We are to LIVE THE WORD. Let us pattern our lives by what God says in His Word. Trends of the world change. “Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Ro 12:1-2)

We are to be LOYAL TO THE WORD. We are to keep it, defend it, contend for it, preach it!
Send to the nations of the world. The Gospel is still the GOOD NEWS….Jesus Saves!!

Now, before I close this, let me share just a few more thoughts,

“Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet and a light unto my pathway.” (Psa 119:105

We need a READING LIGHT. “The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” (Ps 19:8). That dear Word of God keeps one standing in the light. As long as I stand in the Word, I have that light.

We need a WALKING LIGHT. “a light unto my pathway.” When I stand in the Light of His Word, I can see the well light ahead. I can see the dangers ahead.

We need a WARNING LIGHT. You know, like the light that comes on your auto dashboard that flashes, “Check Engine”

I read the final words of Paul and Peter. Paul did not write about the great crusades he had. He did not write about his standing before kings and governors, and so many wondrous things that happened to him. He wrote that the time of his departure was at hand.. “I have finished my course.” He wrote to WARN mankind to follow…”Preach the Word, be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned to fables.” Please read 2Tim. 3-4. We are in the midst of the days Paul warned us about.

Peter wrote about WARNING SIGNS, DANGER SIGNS. “Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me.” (2Pet. 1:14). He writes “There were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies.” (2Pet. 2-3).
Paul and Peter both knew that APOSTASY would grow worse and worse. They warned us with their final words. And my final words to all who happen to read this are, “What I have said is what I would say.”

Yes, we need that READING LIGHT to keep us standing in the right place.
We need that WALKING LIGHT to keep us on the right path.
We need that WARNING LIGHT to show us the dangers on our way from here to eternity.
We have these all, and more, in the Word of God. (KJB).

Now, do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour? Have you trusted Him for your salvation? I am not asking “do you know Him as a person in history, but do you know Him as the One who paid your sin debt on the cross?” If you cannot say “yes” for sure, Today, wherever you may be. Call unto Him. He is there, wherever you are, in the Person of the Holy Spirit. He will come in at your bidding.
Begin TODAY to live FOREVER!

MY BIBLE

I believe that the Bible is a Gift from God,
And that every word in it is pure.
Although many debate it,
And many more hate it,
It is Truth that will ever endure.

Refined more than silver, of more value than gold
More treasure than man can afford.
And though often tried,
And daily denied,
It’s Treasure is Christ, the Lord.

It’s words are Inspired, each word is true,
No error can one rightly find,
To trust and obey,
It’s Commandments each day,
Will give one real peace of mind.

It told me of Christ and His great Love for me,
No other Book can compare.
It tells of Salvation,
For each generation,
It tells of a Heaven to share.

So I’ll stay with the Bible, the Book Divine,
The Book that tells of Christ’s Love.
It seeks to refine,
And a new life design,
‘Til at last we reach Heaven above.

STORMY WEATHER

“The LORD hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm.” (Nahum 1:3)

Here in Florida we are in our usual summertime stormy weather season with the deadly lightning, strong winds, hail and everything else that goes with it. There are uprooted trees, fires started from lightning, damaged homes and accidents on the roads related to the severe storms that we are having here in our beloved “neck of the woods.”
But the good news is the stormy weather does not last! The sun shines bright, the trees are greener and the birds are singing and I am reminded once again that God is still in control! He allows the storms to come in all their fury but He is absolutely in control of every lightning strike, every gust of wind and He knows exactly how many rain drops will fall. That is the God we serve! Our country is in the midst of a raging storm that only God can calm and He will, when He says, “enough!” Enough of God haters, Jesus rejectors and all the sin in the world that goes with it. One day He will calm the storm. “Then He arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm.” (Lk. 8:24).
He knew the storm was coming and He is still in control! Just trust Him and keep on praying, He is listening. “Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm.” (Mt. 8:26). When the storms come, and they will, seek shelter under His wings, run to the One who controls the storm, He will shelter us and keep us safe. Just trust Him, He cares for us and is with us in every storm. When it rains it pours, but remember God has provided a great big umbrella of safety that is big enough and strong enough to protect any one and every one that is willing to trust Him! Trust Him Today!
“For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13)
“Oh that man would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men.” (Psa. 107:31).

‘MORNING GLORY!!

Along the fence in my back yard grows a vine with lovely flowers. They do so much to beautify the morning. It is nice to sip a cup of coffee and enjoy the beauty of this flower.. But something happens to this beautiful flower about noon time. When the sun begins to heat the day these flowers just “fold up.” They cannot take the heat. They sure looked good for awhile, but they fold up and wait for the cool of the next morning to open again. You see, this is called a “MORNING GLORY vine. Beautiful in the cool of morning but cannot take the heat. May I say that so much of the Church world could be called MORNING GLORY CHRISTIANS. They look good for awhile, but when the battle rages, in the heat of that battle they just “fold up.” Are we like that? Can’t take the heat of the battle? The gossip begins, the talking about this member, or that member, the way things are at the Church, the preacher says this or that wrong, false doctrines are broadcast, troubles in churches, and the day begins to heat up and our christian life just seems to “fold up” We need within us the inner strength, and that inner strength is the Power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. “But ye shall receive Power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth..” A “folded up “ Morning Glory is a witness, but a very poor witness. A Morning Glory open is a wonderful witness. When we “fold up” in the heat of battle, we are witnesses, but poor witnesses. When we stand and hold our position or attack our enemy with the Sword, then we are a glorious witness. Let us not be like the Morning Glory and just “fold up.” Let us rely on the inner strength of the Holy Spirit to empower us to keep on for Jesus and His great cause. “How much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” (Lk. 11:13).

Are you a Morning Glory, or a Sun Flower? The Morning Glory folds up in the heat. The Sun Flower stands tall through the heat of the day.
Let us be SON Flowers!

IS HELL ETERNAL?

Sometime ago a reader wrote to advise me that he believes hell is not eternal, that he believes hell will eventually “burn out” and come to an end. His reasoning; “If torment is to be eternal, then the ones in hell must have eternal life.” Human reasoning? I think so! Now, I believe with all my heart that this reader is sincere, but sincerely wrong on this point because too many scriptures teach otherwise; (Mk. 9:43-47), (Mt 25:41-46), (Rev 20:10-15). No where does the Bible (KJB) say that hell will pass away, or burn out. I don’t like to think about it, but the same Bible that teaches me about the eternal bliss of Heaven has much more to say about the eternal torment of hell. Now, as far as the ones in hell having eternal life, NOT SO! They have eternal death. Physical death is separation of body and soul. Spiritual death is separation of body and soul from God, from any hope of God. This is the second death. Jesus described hell as “Where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.” You cannot take a single verse and build sound doctrine. Sound doctrine must be consistent with all Scripture. Now, let’s just believe what Jesus said about hell and spend our time in rescuing multitudes on their way there. Let us tell them of Jesus who died and arose from the dead in order that all men can be saved. All are saved who believe in the finished work of Christ alone. Now, that belief in Christ is not belief in some historical event, but it is TRUSTING in Christ alone. “For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” To receive Christ is to receive ETERNAL, EVERLASTING life. Everlasting is the length, Eternal is the quality.
The above mentioned writer had a problem with the length of Eternal and the length of Everlasting. The length of both are the same. “And this is the record that God hath given to us ETERNAL Life, and this life is in His Son.” (1Jn 5:11).
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have EVERLASTING Life.” (Jn 3:16).“He that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of god abideth on him.” (Jn 3:36).

THE BOOK,
THE BLOOD,
THE BLESSED HOPE!

THE BOOK.
I am referring to the Book of the ages, the Old King James Bible. The Book God used to bless the world, to found nations, to build educational institutions to equip men and women in the Army of world evangelism. Believe me, this BOOK has been through the fires, and is in the fire now. These new“versions” came waltzing on the scene just a few years ago. STAY WITH THE BOOK!

THE BLOOD.
Speaking of the Shed Blood of Jesus on the Cross. His sinless Blood shed for sinful men. I do not know who came up with the idea that we can get to God some other way than through the shed Blood of Jesus. “Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own Blood.” (Rev. 1:5).

THE BLESSED HOPE.
“Looking for that “BLESSED HOPE and glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)..
The Lord Jesus told us to look for Him to come again. The disciples told us to look for Jesus to come again. The last prayer in the Bible prayed by the apostle John’,“Even so, come Lord Jesus.” (Rev 22:20).

Don’t look for the antichrist, there is absolutely no hope there!

Don’t look for the tribulation period, there is absolutely no hope there.

Don’t look for signs and try to figure out and match this with that, etc.

Don’t look for things to get better. “evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
LOOK for Jesus. Trust His promises, and stay true to the BOOK.
